Dixie Contract Carpet’s First Annual “DCCU” CEU Day

Dixie Contract Carpet hosted “DCCU” Dixie Contract Carpet University – a full day of CEU courses focused on flooring for all architects and interior designers.  The event was held at the Schultz Center for learning www.schultzcenter.organd was attended by 50 design professionals.  Dixie Contract Carpet collaborated with industry manufacturers to bring 12 CEU accredited presentations to the event.  The event commenced at 8am with continental breakfast.  Participants were preregistered and signed in as they arrived for their selected classes. 

Classes ran two simultaneously every hour with a feature class at lunch by Healthcare expert, Keith Gray (Mohawk Industries) and an afternoon feature class by product design consultant and colorist Ruth Simon McCrae (Milliken).  The classes provided were: “From Specification to Installation” and “Is it Really Green”(Crossville); “Choosing a Sustainable Floor”, (Tarkett); “A Systems Approach to Tile and Stone (Schluter); Materials Chemistry (Patcraft); “How to Specify Carpet for Healthcare” (Shaw); “Moisture in Concrete” (Ardex); “Fiber 101” (Antron); “Ventilated Wall Systems” (Marazzi); and “Sustainability Within Reach” (Interface).  The day ended with hors devours and happy hour drinks.  All catering was provided by Catering by Liz and bar service provided by Oliver Twist through the Chartwells Thompson Corporation.
