Dixie Secures its first GSA contract!

Dixie Contract Carpet, Inc. is pleased to announce it has secured its first GSA Contract for an assortment of Marazzi tile products.  Dixie has been ramping up its presence in the commercial tile market and this is an important piece to that puzzle.  There are 9 series now available on the GSA Advantage system through which government purchasing agencies can procure the ceramic tile products at a prenegotiated purchase price.  Dixie sees this product line as an important selection to have available for every ceramic tile use in the government industry including "commercial" bathrooms, lobbies, corridors, break rooms, and even in "residential" needs for BEQ's and military housing.

Seven of the nine products now available on GSA are made in the United States in Florence, Alabama.  The other two product lines are very architectural and contemporary utilizing multiple size availabilities including large format sizes like 24" x 48" tiles.  All of the lines contain a percentage of pre-consumer recycled content making them prime selections for projects seeking LEED certification.

Obtaining the first GSA contract for the company came with a long haul of learning curves and waiting lists.  It took almost two years from the inception of the process and almost a year from the submittal date for the contract to be reviewed and then awarded.  Dixie has plans to offer a full line of commercial flooring products on the GSA contract and will begin the launch of the series in January of 2012.
